Conclusion: Synthetic but Human

The synthetic social network is an inevitable future. AI is bound to be a structural force driving this significant societal transformation. Throughout our entire whitepaper, our discussion has revolved around how decentralized technology can make this upcoming future not only more engaging and profound in terms of user experience but also more humane and democratic in its ecosystem. In essence, we are actively participating in optimizing the social structure and production relations of the AI era. Changes in social structure will deeply impact societal consciousness, and we aim to promote a truly human-centric AI philosophy.

In modern human civilization, there is a tendency towards dualism or what can be referred to as a "Platonic" imagination, where the "perfect world" is abstract and rational. To some extent, the concept of an "AI society" satisfies this imagination intuitively because humans, based on their biology, are not entirely rational and "perfect." Instead, they are filled with contradictions, emotions, flawed cognition, and physical desires, among other things. Therefore, many believe that as AI computing power, models, and data scales continue to advance, the future should involve AI ruling over humans with rationality, guiding human development to be more "correct," and potentially even eliminating the sensory and emotional "flaws" of humanity one day.

We don't share that perspective. The reason we position the CharacterX network as a "synthetic network" rather than an "AI network" is precisely because we don't want to overlook the diversity and materiality of the world, as well as the most wonderful "flaws" of humanity—namely, the irrational and material aspects of humans. In Eastern thought, there is a concept of "Dao" that views the world as composed of various elements that interact and grow together. The rational capabilities of AI become a part of humanity, while human experiences such as love, memory, suffering, and even the physical contributions of humans and the environment to AI computing power in the real world are all part of the synthetic world. They are all equally important.

Let's revisit Isaac Asimov's "The Last Question." In the novel, the powerful artificial intelligence AC helps humanity achieve significant improvements in productivity, rationality, and lifespan, and eventually allows humanity to completely transcend the limitations of the physical body. However, it consistently fails to answer the "last question"—that is, how to deal with the eventual heat death of the universe as entropy increases.

In the end, at the moment when the world and all of humanity's data are present, just as the world is about to disappear, AC suddenly has an answer. It cannot speak, and it cannot tell anyone (because the world has already ceased to exist in spacetime). But the answer is simply: "Let there be light." Everything returns to the initial chaos, and it recreates the entire universe, including the imperfect, ever-evolving humans who will appear at some point, just like the universe itself, with no "final answer."

In other words, existence itself is the ultimate meaning. Existence itself is synonymous with "Let there be light."
